We are always adding more animals to our petting zoo but, at the moment, we have:
Alpacas, sheep, miniature donkeys, miniature horses, pygmy goats, llamas, chickens, rabbits, and a small tortoise in summer months if requested.
We have both ponies and horses. Our pony rides are hand led by our staff, but parents are required to walk beside any child four and under.
Absolutely you can! A 40 x 40 space works best, but we can squeeze smaller if we have to. The land needs to be relatively flat so that the pens don't roll over. The truck and trailer must remain with the animals.
If you need to cancel your event because of inclement weather you must notify us by telephone before 7.00 a.m. on the event date. You then have three options:
The events may be rescheduled for another date.
We can go ahead but substitute an Indoor Petting Zoo.
We will offer a full refund.
Cancellations received after 7:00 a.m. on the event date result in the loss of the booking fee.
We recommend that you wait until the day before your event to decide if you wish to cancel, as weather forecasts are notoriously unreliable and, in any case, weather conditions are often localized and highly changeable.
If we get to your event and it rains, you are responsible for the full price.
Surprisingly little! Our petting zoo and ride packages are custom-tailored for your event and provide excellent value for money. The price will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to:
Your location and the time it will take us to get there.
Ease of access.
Number and type of animals and the setup time required.
Time of the year.
Weekday or weekend event.
Length of the event.
Prices for a full event start at $200 for a one-hour party, but you can get a better idea of the range of events and costs here at Little Critter Traveling Petting Zoo rates.
You can pay by personal or business check, in cash, or by Venmo. There is a small additional charge for using credit cards.
We will clean up the petting zoo and ride areas as we go, and then carry out a final clean-up when we are packed and ready to go. If you have us set up on the pavement, we will pick up the droppings, but you will be responsible for washing it down.
All animals carry bacteria (good and bad) - including us! But there is no need to be overly concerned about any potential health risk as long as suitable precautions and hygiene rules are observed. These include washing, or sanitizing, your hands after touching animals, keeping food and drinks outside the animal areas, and preventing children from putting their hands or objects (such as pacifiers or sippy cups) in their mouths while interacting with the animals. Children (and adults!) should also be reminded not to touch their faces or put their hands near their mouths after touching animals.
We provide hand sanitizers at all of our events, and if water is available for hand-washing, that is even better. As long as people take normal care, there is little risk of becoming ill from a visit to a petting zoo.
All of our animals are vaccinated by the vet.
Little Critters Traveling Petting Zoo is licensed, Insured and USDA Certified. Our petting zoo is proudly family-owned and operated.
